Somewhere in Fractured Shrines is a dead cultist corpse. This rune is obtained by defeating the Hand of the King and gives players the option to pop off their heads by pressing in on the right stick. There is a mechanic allowing players to possess dead bodies through the use of the Homunculus Rune. There are two ways players can accomplish this: by finding the Cultist Outfit Blueprint, turning it in, and then buying it from the Collector (the same process used with all other blueprints) during a subsequent playthrough or by taking the robes from a dead cultist inside Fractured Shrines. The only way to gain entry into this passage is by wearing a cultist outfit. Clearing Fractured Shrines will lead players into the Clock Tower, though there will be a second exit into Undying Shores that is guarded by a pair of cultist statues holding polearms. How to enter Fractured Shrines & Undying Shores The arrangement of biomes in Dead Cells can become rather convoluted.įractured Shrines can be entered from either the Black Bridge or The Nest boss encounters. We have prepared this guide to help players enter and progress through the new biomes. As anyone with experience with the branching paths of Dead Cells may know, accessing all the available biomes in the game requires some planning and equipment, as opposed to speeding through to the Hand of the King as fast as possible. These new biomes, Fractured Shrines and Undying Shores, are slipstreamed into the existing game progression and must be conquered if players have aspirations of doing battle with Scarecrow, the new boss that is included with Fatal Falls. The premiere attraction of Fatal Falls is undoubtedly the two new biomes that players may find themselves pushing through during their runs. Existing fans and owners of the game have lots to be excited about as developer Motion Twin has continually provided post-launch support, including the recent release of the Fatal Falls DLC. As one of Shacknews’ Top Ten Games of 2018 (and my personal #1), it remains a must-play. We’ve been releasing free updates for Dead Cells for over a year now, this paid DLC is designed to support that effort, allow us to expand the game even more and ensure that Motion Twin have the time they need to make their next game one they’ll be proud of and you’ll be stoked to play.Īs usual we’re going to do this right, so if you’re not happy with the cost of the DLC, the quality of the update or have suggestions, ideas for other ways of continuing to pay for the team or anything at all, leave us a review, or come and ask us directly via Reddit or Discord. We can’t say enough about how delightful it is to spend time playing Dead Cells. The two new levels and their monsters are alternatives to The Courtyard/Toxic Sewers and The Ramparts/Ossuary/Ancient Sewers, with the boss designed to be on par with The Concierge, so hopefully it’ll spice up your early game runs once you’ve played through the core game. The Heart of the Swamp: Domain of mama tick, if you’ve seen StarShip Troopers, you get the idea. The Swamp: A noxious environment ruled by a band of tree dwelling mutans with pointy sticks, sneaky dart shooting frogmen and a bunch of deadly bloodsuckers. The Arboretum: A relaxing and peaceful greenhouse inhabited by a peaceful clan of mushrooms, with an understandable desire to murder the Beheaded.Harvest a few souls with your new scythe. Explore a relaxing Arboretum, wade through a noxious Swamp and take on a new boss in this new early game content designed to expand the Dead Cells universe and add variety to runs for people who want to support the development of the game.
